Another scam in the area

There's been a report of another scam in Northeast Iowa.

In this telephone scam, an elderly person received a phone call from someone pretending to be a grandchild.  The phone caller said he was in Peru and had been in an accident and needed $2,000 wired immediately.  He also said to not tell his parents because they would be mad at him.

Police ask area residents to contact them if they think they have received a similar phone call or any other phone call that is suspicious.
