First round of teacher compensation negotiation begins

The first round of the annual teacher contract negotiation process began Tuesday afternoon. Jeff Freidhof, representing the Decorah Education Association, presented their initial offer to the Decorah Community Schools negotiating team. The request called for a total package increase of 3.99 percent, which amounts to a total increase of $333,364.  This includes a base salary increase of $645 to $30,855.

The next round of negotiation will take place next Tuesday, March 13, at 3:30 p.m.
