Decorah Police say they are investigating several incidents of child enticement.

On Friday group of males tried to entice two children into a silver colored car near Carrie Lee Elementary School.

On Monday at about 3:20 PM a group of children walking home from Carrie Lee Elementary School were approached by a silver colored car.  There were a number of possibly highschool aged boys in the car.  The vehicle stopped next to the children and the occupants attempted to entice them into the car by offering candy, ice cream and a ride home.  This occurred in the area of Washington Street and Railroad Street.  The vehicle continued to drive by the children several times and the occupants yelled at them.

Another parent reported the same type of incident in the same general area on Monday.  The vehicle was described by the children as possibly being white in color.

Decorah Police say they will increase their patrols around the schools.  All of the Decorah schools have been notified about these incidents.  The public is asked to be attentive to similar vehicles and to write down the license plate number if at all possible.  Please  contact the Decorah Police Department at 382-3667 or 911 with any information.
