LInden Street is one of the hillier streets in Decorah. So residents of the street are concerned about school bus traffic in the morning and afternoon. Students are left off the buses without a sidewalk to walk on to their homes.
Neighbors have asked the City Streets Committee to install a stop sign at the Linden and Walnut Street intersection, but city officials don't think the traffic issues involve the need for a stop sign. They're concentrating on future sidewalk construction in the area.
In the meantime, Decorah Police Chief Bill Nixon says his department will locate the police department's radar speed display on the street in an effort to make sure motorists aren't speeding.
