UPDATE: Library program on altered books POSTPONED

A Decorah Public Library program on techniques for altering books has been cancelled and rescheduled for Saturday, March 17th, at 2:00 p.m.

"Exploring Altered Books" will be held in the library's public meeting room.  The program is designed to provide anyone with a love of books and creative expression an overview of the range of approaches and techniques for altering books.  Painting, collage, use of multimedia and found objects, calligraphy, photo transfers, sculptural and 3-dimensional additions are some of the ways that adventurous souls have embellished cast off books or given them entirely new identities.  A slideshow tour of finished pieces and some works in progress from local artists, as well brief opportunities for some hands on experimenting will be featured.

The program originally was scheduled for Thursday night, but has been postponed until March 17th.
