Now there are three.
For the fourth year in a row, the bald eagles near the Decora Fish Hatchery have laid three eggs. The third egg was laid at 8:06 Friday night.
Most bald eagles typically lay two eggs each year, but the abundance of food near the Decorah bald eagle nest has led the pair to produce three eggs for the last four years--and has allowed the chicks to survive once they hatch.
A video of the three eggs is posted as part of this news story.
The next milestone will be the hatching of the chicks, which ought to begin late in March.
