Certified registered nurse anesthetist hired at Winneshiek Medical Center

A new certified registered nurse anesthetist has been hired at Winneshiek Medical Center.  Christine Sims will provide general anesthesia care for surgical patients, pain management and obstetrical anesthesia care at the hospital.

Sims received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Allen College in Waterloo and her Master's of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from the University of Iowa.  She has provided hospital anesthesia services since 2006, most recently in Dubuque.

"I am passionate about comfort control for obstetrical patients," says Christine. "There are numerous options for effective obstetrical pain management available today.  Each birth is unique and different - I look forward to working with patients to determine what is best for both mom and her newborn."

Sims and her husband have four children.  The family has relocated to Decorah.
