Raptor Resource Project Executive Director Bob Anderson made a prediction Tuesday afternoon at a speech to the Luther College Women's Club--"If I were a betting man, I'd say we're going to have another (bald eagle) egg."

So far the Decorah bald eagles have laid two eggs.  A third egg could come as early as Friday.  The eagle pair have laid three eggs for the past three years.

Anderson told the Women's Club that the eaglecam experience "has been absolutely incredible."  That's because, after beginning the webcam in 2009, the site went viral in 2011 and drew 217 million visits.  "It is now the number one wildlife education tool in the world," said Anderson, adding that he is particularly pleased that teachers have used the website to educate their students.

Anderson earns no money for doing the webcam.  Neither do numerous other volunteers.  There is only one paid position--an administrative position to hand all the e-mails and other correspondence.
