NICC trustees have approved a fiscal year 2013 budget that calls for almost $52.9 million in spending.
The approved property tax rate for FY 2013 will be 98 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation, which is a decrease of 8.5 percent from the current year's rate of $1.07354.
In other financial news, the NICC Board accepted low bids from Roger's Lock and Key of Decorah and Mr. Lock and Key of Dyersville to replace the interior door locks on each of the college's main campuses. These locks will allow faculty and staff to quickly lock themselves in their classroom in the event of a threatening situation on campus.
