Water and sewer rates could be going up in Decorah

Your next water and sewer bill in the City of Decorah could be higher.

The Decorah City Council on Monday night approved a first reading of an ordinance that would increase both water rates and sewer rates by ten percent.

In addition, the ordinances contained language that would allow for yearly rate increases based on the Consumer Price Index.

The increases are not effective yet, however--the Decorah City Council must had a second and third reading of the two ordinances.
