Numerous business items handled by School Board

In brief business actions Monday night the Decorah Community School Board:

• Approved purchase of two school buses from Hoglund Bus Company of Marshalltown for a cost of $164,470
• Approved Ron Fadness and Brian Petersburg as the Board's Negotiating Team for meetings this spring to work with the Decorah Education Association on teacher contract for next year.
• Approved a two year contract with Drive Tek for driver education services. This was typically a one year contract, but Drive Tek offered the district the second year at the same cost.
• The Board moved one step closer to adopting  "paperless board meetings" via technology that could save much paper and mailing, as well as make the board processes more transparent to the public. This will likely happen this summer.
