Will the recycling bins in Decorah be moving?

The blue recycling bins that currently are set up in a parking lot across from Decorah City Hall could be getting a new home.

The Downtown Decorah Betterment Association has asked that the bins detract from the look of downtown Decorah.

Winneshiek County Recycling owns the bins.  They must be situated on public property, so City of Decorah officials say they will work with the county recycling program to find an acceptable alternate location. 

The City's Betterment Committee has agreed to discuss the issue at its next meeting.
