Don't expect the new Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic in Decorah to open its doors in February.
A spokesperson for the VA in Iowa City says the agency hasn't "accepted" the new facility yet. That's a formal process that takes place after an inspection of the building shows the facility meets the Veterans Adminstration's standards. However, the VA spokesperson says it is likely that inspection will occur some time next week.
After the inspection occurs, a three or four week period of time is spent getting the facility staffed and in shape for the opening. The would put the opening of the VA Outpatient Clinic some time during the weeks of March 12th or March 19th--assuming the inspection occurs next week.
