Ask Mr. Answer Person: "When will the yellow ribbons on Water Street come down?"

Yellow ribbons were put up on city lampposts to honor Northeast Iowans serving in the military

Marion e-mails: "Just curious--will the yellow ribbons on the lampposts on Water Street come down now that the 322nd Engineering Company is back home?"

Mr. Answer Person says: What?  Are they getting in your way?

Actually, the answer to your question is that the ribbons will stay up.  American Legion Post president Ranelle Bolson says, "People need to remember that we have a lot of soldiers from this area that are still deployed--some in harms way."

For instance, says Bolson, Bev and Lonny Brown's son, Jason, is a pilot who flies off the USS Abraham Lincoln, which is on patrol in the Iran area.

Concludes Bolson, "We need to make people aware that it was and is not just the 322nd Army Reserves who are serving from this area."
