Winneshiek Medical Center has been making a number of energy efficiency improvements lately.
The project upgraded the heating, ventilating and air conditions systems by replacing old and inefficient air handling units and heat recovery chillers.
The hospital plans to repay the $817,000 project cost through future energy savings. But now it has gotten a little more financial help. Alliant Energy has just sent the hospital a check for a $53,000 rebate, while Black Hills Energy will be sending a $39,000 check in the near future. Winneshiek Medical Center will also receive a $29,000 state grant in the near future.
