Search for new hospital boss will center on Mayo Health Systems first

The search for a new Chief Administrative Officer at Winneshiek Medical Center will concentrate on people who are already employees of Mayo Health Systems.

Hospital officials had originally stated the search would be nationwide.  But Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Susan Halter announced Wednesday night that candidates within Mayo Health Systems would be interviewed first and outside candidates would be interviewed only if no Mayo Health Systems applicants were deemed qualified.

Hospital officials have not set a timetable for the hiring of a new hospital leader.  Dave Rooney has been appointed the Interim Chief Administrative Officer in the wake of Dan Werner's resignation last week.
