Last year the Decorah bald eagle webcam operated by Raptor Resource Project attracted over 200 million views. So it's a little strange to talk about the webcam getting MORE views this year.
But RRP Executive Director Bob Anderson says he's setting his sights higher for 2012. Anderson told the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Luncheon on Monday he's aiming for half a (B)billion website visits in 2012.
He'll be helped by a lot of additional publicity.
On this coming Sunday, February 12th, the National Geographic WILD channel will feature the Decorah Bald Eagles in a 7:00 p.m. documentary called "Wild Mississippi."
In May--May 21st, to be exact--footage from the Decorah bald eagle nest will appear on "Jeopardy!"
Anderson says more publicity is possible--RRP has been contacted by Ellen De Generis and by Stephen Colbert.
