Raptor Resource Project Executive Director Bob Anderson on Monday received the Tourism Award from the Winneshiek County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

WCCVB Director Brenda Balk said the webcam video of the Decorah bald eagles brought worldwide publicity for Decorah last year, with over 214 million viewers in 184 countries.

"The tourism impact of our famous eagles is astounding," said Balk. "It's been the reason why so many new people are learning about Decorah and Winneshiek County."

Anderson says the goal is to reach half a billion online viewers of the bald eagle cam by the end of the summer.
