A second psychologist has begun working at Winneshiek Medical Center.

Dr. Robyn  David joins fellow Mayo Clinic Health System Psychologist Dr. Ronald Hougen.  Her expertise includes treating anxiety, depression, eating disorders and patients with chronic medical conditions.

A native of Northeast Iowa, Dr. David earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of North Dakota-Grand Forks in 1992.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Kansas School of Medicine–Wichita, with post-doctoral training in Behavioral Medicine at Mayo Clinic. She is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has developed an expertise in integrative psychology.  Dr. David has completed research projects in the study of psychoneuroendocrinology and eating disorders, as well as integrative psychological interventions for cancer patients.

Dr. David is a cancer survivor with a passion for bringing integrative medicine to patients with chronic medical conditions.  She facilitates groups empowering cancer and patients with chronic illness and pain to take charge of their own healing.  Dr. David says, "Integrative medicine is the best that western medicine has to offer, complemented by holistic modalities such as mindfulness, yoga, acupuncture, Qigong and healing touch.  Integrative medicine is a cutting edge approach found in major medical centers in the United States, but rarely found in rural communities."

Dr. David is available full time at Winneshiek Medical Center.   For an appointment, call (563) 382-2911.
