Spring semester enrollment down 5 percent at NICC

Preliminary figures show NICC's spring semester enrollment is down about five percent over the previous spring semester.  Official numbers will not be available until after the tenth day of classes.

NICC Vice President Curt Oldfield notes there is an increase in the number of high school students taking classes and there are more part-time students than there have been previously.  Said Oldfield, "Our two highest enrollment counties have extremely low unemployment rates: 4.6 % in Dubuque and 4.1% in Winneshiek. As people go back to work, many continue to stay with us but take fewer hours."
