The Decorah Community School Board heard a report from Greg Schaller, Director of Buildings and Grounds, regarding the ongoing high school renovation. Highlights included:

• The Woodshop and District Shop are progressing. Both have been painted and await connection to the heating system and numerous cabinetry and finishing items.
• The front office area now has pillar structure completed. Sprinkler systems are connected and most of the wall structure is complete.  Demolition of existing wall structures will be in the summer.
• The gym area has interior walls up. The existing high school roof has been tied into the new structure. Tile work is nearly complete in the locker and shower rooms.
• Demolition of the existing locker rooms and the old gym will begin in March. "Pinch" points for the spring may include locker room shuffling for spring sports and alternative indoor practice sites if the weather does not cooperate.
• A new electric service center has been installed and some new routing has been completed.
• Graduation is still on track for being in the new gym. The entrance will be via the existing hallway that runs north/south on the east side of the existing gym. Later, when the existing gym is converted to cafeteria and multipurpose space, there will also be an entrance from that area.
