Decorah HS scholarship applications are being taken

The Decorah Community School District Foundation scholarship application process is now under way.

The application forms for all graduating seniors can be found on the school district web page at www.decorah.k12.ia.us. Several of this year's scholarships are need-based, and parents are encouraged to complete the "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA) as soon as possible. The form is available at no cost on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
The deadline for the 2012 application and all supporting documentation and transcripts is Thursday, March 1st. More information also can be found at the school guidance office.

Awards will be presented to selected DHS seniors during an evening program at the high school auditorium at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9th.

DCSD Foundation Board of Directors continues to accept tax-deductible donations towards the scholarship program, and tax-deductible donations for named-scholarships. Board members include Rich Amundson, Larry Berland, Kelly Brickley, Bridget Casper, Peggy Beatty, Cam Forde, Tim Lynch, Leslie Sand, Aaron Steffens, Beth Wahlberg, Roz Weis, Troy Whitehill, Ben Grimstad, Janice Cordell and Jenny Werner. DHS Superintendent Mike Haluska and DHS Principal Kim Sheppard serve as ex-officio board members.
