NICC Calmar has begun taking reservations for "Cabinet Building Basics for Do it Yourselfers."  The class will meet from 2:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from January 10th through May 11th.  Classes will be held in room 105B of the Industrial Technology Building on the Calmar campus.

NICC building trades instructor Brian Ondrashek will teach the basics of cabinet construction along with hands-on skills in cabinet building, including basic carcasses, face frames, door panels, installation of hinges and drawer guides, installation of finished cabinets, professional tips and much more. Ondrashek also covers fastening procedures, such as dovetailing options and pocket screws.  Participants can choose to either work on the class project, or with instructor approval, on their own cabinets with personal supplies.  This course can be taken for five hours of college credit or non-credit.
