Decorah firefighters called to shed fire

The Decorah Fire Department was called out to thr Raymond Wenthold farm at 2052 225th Street at 2:00 a.m. Thursday.

A 16 x 28 shed was fully engulfed in fire and partially collapsed when firefighters arrived.  The owner stated he was awakened by his barking dog and noticed the fire.

The fire was brought under control and hot spots in the building were extinguished.

The building and its contents were a total loss including two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.  The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time but does not appear to be suspicious. 

The Decorah Fire Department was assisted by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department, Calmar Fire Department, Ossian Fire Department and Decorah Electric.
