The Spectrum Network has announced plans for an open house January 24th to introduce its new Executive Director, Deb Massman Schott.
Schott assumed her duties on November 17th. She leads a staff of 25 and will oversee all of the Spectrum Network's programs and services, including life skills, job skills, day services, business and school partnerships, as well as the Cresco Thrift store operations. Additionally, Deb will be responsible for raising visibility of the organization in the community and increasing donor support.
Prior to becoming Executive Director of The Spectrum Network, Schott consulted on financial management and internal controls with the Iowa City VA Medical Research Foundation, taught business courses at various colleges, and held leadership positions within several nonprofit organizations. She has extensive experience in operations, accounting, compliance, and auditing within private, publicly traded, and nonprofit organizations.
She has a BA in Accounting & Management from Upper Iowa University, a MBA in Organizational Development from Upper Iowa University and a PhD in Organization and Management with a concentration in General Business from Capella University. She also has certifications as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
