You might believe in global warming; you might doubt it. But in the Northeast Iowa portion of the globe, 2011 was definitely warmer.
Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says 2011 was the 15th warmest year in Decorah of the 102 years in which temperature records were kept. Nine months in 2011 were warmer than average, one was average and only two months were cooler than average,
The average temperature for the year was 47.82 degrees, which was 1.62 degrees warmer than average.
Also in 2011, precipitation totaled 31.62 inches--just one inch less than average,
