Decorah Chamber Dollars were a success this holiday

The Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce's Chamber Dollar program had a very successful holiday season.

From November 1st through December 24th $91,322 in Chamber Dollars were purchased. That was a 59 percent increase--or $33,780 more in Chamber Dollar sales than in 2010.

Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce officials point out the Chamber Dollars will directly circulate back into the Decorah community, since they can only be spent at Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce members.

Chamber Dollars do need to be spent within one year of the issue date.
