December was a lot warmer than usual in Decorah

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says temperatures in Decorah in December were almost 8 degrees warmer than normal.

Bernatz says temperature readings averaged 29.2 degrees.  That was 7.8 degrees warmer than the average December temperatures.  No records were set for high temperatures during December, but 25 out of 31 days had an above average high temperature.

Decorah recorded a total of 2.14 inches of precipitation in December, with four days having at least 4/10ths of an inch of precipitation.  December's precipitation total was almost an inch higher than normal.
