Changes noted for Democratic caucus

Winneshiek Democrats announced that the location for the 1st Ward of Decorah (Precinct 9) has had to be changed due to construction at Decorah City Hall. The new location of the caucus, which will be held on Tuesday, January 3 at 6:30 PM, will be the Decorah Senior High School Auditorium, 100 Claiborne Drive.  There is a basketball game the same night in the gymnasium so access to the auditorium will be easiest through the auditorium/gym entrance at Decorah High School.  Anyone eligible to vote in the November election can register and participate in the caucus. You must be in line by 7:00 PM in order to caucus.

When asked about why it's important to caucus when the party already has a candidate in President Barack Obama, Dick Janson, Winneshiek Party Democrats chair said "Anyone can show up, register as a Democrat there, discuss the issues and help write resolutions to be sent to the County Convention."  A platform resolution form is available on the Winn Dems website: µwww.winn-dems.org§ .
