Decorah school superintendent Mike Haluska has been honored by The Iowa Association of School Boards.
Haluska has received a Superintendents' Award of Honor, an award that recognizes superintendents who put forth extra time and energy to strengthen their school boards. 11 Iowa superintendents were recipients of this award. They were selected because they participated in formal school board in-service workshops and also served on statewide committees or boards.
IASB board president Russ Wiesley commended Haluska for his hard work, saying "Each individual in this select group of superintendents takes extra steps to make sure they are informed and capable as they strive to improve outcomes for students."
