School Board finalizes paperwork on bonds and alters January meeting time

The Decorah Community School Board completed the final paperwork issues associated with the last round of bond issuing, slightly over $7 million, for the Decorah High School renovation project. The action was follow up to the favorable bond bids received earlier this month.

In other business the board set January 16th as their regular business meeting date, rather than on the customary second Monday. The board will still meet briefly on January 9th to approve a bid on a roofing project.

The board also approved the following community members for the Decorah High School Career Technical Advisory Committee: Steve Arneson, Trudy Belay, Jenni Grouws, Tom Hauber, Johanna Kittelson, Dave Nowak, Martin Pena, Rhonda Peterson, Rich Smith, Robert Smith, Julie Vulk, Mark Wilmes and Dave Wise. The state mandated committed meets twice a year with high school personnel to review high school statistics and programs; and offers input as needed regarding perceived educational needs for students entering into the workforce directly out of high school.
