Endowment established for NE Iowa Food and Fitness Initiative

An endowment fund has been set up to support the work of  the Northeast Iowa Food and Fitness Initiative.

The Food and Fitness Initiative involves Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Howard and Winneshiek counties.  The initiative promotes access to healthy, locally grown foods and abundant opportunities for physical activity and play. The effort has been funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Food and Community program.

The Allamakee County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, will handle the endowment.  Gifts to this fund are eligible for the Endow Iowa 25% state tax credit.  Gifts to this fund can also be made online at
