ArtHaus, Decorah's home for the visual, performing, and literary arts, has released its Winter/Spring calendar which lists classes and events for kids and adults from January through May.  ArtHaus is now accepting registration for all classes and workshops.

The popular Winter Art Camp for ages 6-8 and 9-12 is back this year, offered January 2-6 from 9am-3pm, during the holiday break.  Students will split the day between the ArtHaus Studio and the Clay Studio, ending with a showcase of student artwork at the ArtHaus Studio.

Saturday Ballet classes for children will continue in February, along with other popular youth programs such as ArtStudio and Clay Play for Tiny Masters (age 2-3), Mini-Masters (ages 4-5), and Little Masters (age 6-8).  Many options throughout the winter and spring for young artists up to age 12 include Clay, Puppetmaking, and Photography.  Actors age 12-18 have an opportunity to perform in Upstart Crow Theatreworks' spring production of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice.  Pre-registration is required for all programs, and early registration is recommended.

Adults will find a wide variety of opportunities such as a Sonnet Writing workshop with Kate Narveson just in time for Valentine's Day, a Performance Poetry workshop and a class in Memoir writing with June Melby, "Bollywood" Indian Dance, beginning and intermediate Spanish, American Sign Language, as well as a new opportunity to join a Recorder Ensemble with Suzanne Ernst.

Creative hands-on classes and workshops such as Sewing, Jewelry, Painting Silk Scarves, Clay, and Drawing and Painting with John Snyder are also among the offerings available for adults in the Winter/Spring line-up.

Many classes begin in January and early registration is recommended.  To view the complete schedule and to register on-line, visit www.arthausdecorah.org.
