The Decorah City Council has endorsed an Community Development Grant application for Aase Haugen Homes.
The potential $600,000 grant would be used to build an 8,500 square foot addition to the nursing home to create "memory care" units that serve people with Alzheimer's Disease. Aase Haugen also intends to remodel 3,800 square feet of existing space into a rehabilitative skills center. In all, the project would cost over $1.6 million if the grant is awarded.
