Fort Atkinson man faces numerous charges after high-speed chase

A Fort Atkinson man, 19-year-old Steven Nesbitt, faces charges in Winneshiek County and Fayette County after a high-speed chase Thutrsday night.

Police claim Nesbitt took a car belonging to Anthony Ledesma, a co-worker at Einck's Dairy at 1140 277th Avenue.  Nesbitt was discovered a short time later in Fayette Count, where he led sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase.

Besbitt was caught after the vehicle became disabled.  Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies charged him with eluding police officers, as well as other miscellaneous charges.  Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies charged Nesbitt with operating a vehicle without the owner's consent.
