Two-vehicle crash causes extensive damage

A New Hampton man has been ticketed following a traffic accident Friday morning on Highway 9 at Trout Run Road.

58-year-old Randy Burgart has been cited for failure to stop at a stop light. He was eastbound on Highway 9 and failed to stop for a red light, hitting a car that had pulled out from Trout Run Road. The driver of that car, 37-year-old Jason Whalen of Decorah, was not injured, but his car was destroyed.
