The group called "Save Our Avian Resources," or SOAR, is once again being called upon to rescue an injured bald eagle from Winneshiek County.
In September the group was called upon to take a bald eagle that had been hit by a car in Winneshiek County and nurse it back to full strength. The bald eagle was released back into the wild last month (http://www.decorahnews.com/archived-stories/2011/10/1026.html
The latest rescue effort involves a bald eagle found over the weekend on private property south of Burr Oak. Volunteer Dave Kester picked up the injured bird and took it to the house of Raptor Resource Project director Bob Anderson. The bird was then picked up by Save Our Avian Resources Executive Director Kay Neuman, who treated the last injured eagle. Neuman's organization, headquartered in Dedham, Iowa, will try to work its magic again on the latest injured bald eagle.
