Remodeling to begin soon at Decorah City Hall

Decorah City Hall will get a facelift soon.

Starting next Monday, December 5th, old carpeting in the building will be replaced.  Crews will be ripping out the carpeting in the City Hall entryway, the City Council room, the Fire Department station and the Parks & Recreation office.  Crews will have to do asbestos removal before laying new carpeting.

The remodeling project will run for most of the month of December at a cost of around $40,000, including the asbestos removal costs.  The project will require several temporary moves.  The Parks & Recreation Department will move its offices into a conference room, while the Decorah City Council will hold its December meetings at the Decorah Public Library.
