Voting is underway in Farm Service Agency county committee elections. Completed ballots must be returned by mail or delivered to the Winneshiek FSA office by December 5th.
"By voting, producers have a voice in their local community since the county committee members play a huge role in the Agency, especially at the county level," said FSA County Executive Director Julie Vulk. "County committee members make decisions on how federal farm programs will be administered locally," she said.
Voters in Local Administrative Area #1, representing Fremont, Burr Oak, Bluffton, Hesper, Highland, Pleasant and Canoe townships received ballots for this year's election and will be voting to elect a representative from this area.
Voters in Local Administrative Area #2, representing Orleans, Lincoln, Madison, Sumner, Calmar, Jackson, and Washington townships received ballots for this year's election and will be voting to elect a representative from this area.
Each LAA will vote for one representative. For your vote to count, do not forget to sign the label before you seal the ballot. If you did not receive a ballot and are eligible to vote, contact the Winneshiek County FSA for a replacement ballot.
