Iowa Governor Terry Branstad on Monday night thanked Decorah representatives for the community's participation in the Iowa Great Places program.

At a reception in Mason City, state officials recognized six Iowa Great Places that graduated from the program this year--Davenport, Decorah, Charles City, Council Bluffs, Perry and Historic Valley Junction of West Des Moines.

Branstad and Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs Director Mary Tiffany Cownie were among the state officials in attendance at the awards reception.
