Proposed new Decorah bike ordinance will go to a public hearing

A public hearing will be held December 5th on a proposed revision of the City of Decorah's bike ordinance.

City council members Monday night said the proposed ordinance meets with their approval.  But Decorah resident David Paquette said he hadn't seen a copy of the ordinance and wondered whether other members of the public had seen it.

City council members had earlier discussed ways to publicize the new bike ordinance, so they agreed that a public hearing on the ordinance would make sense.  City council member Rachel Vagts said there seems to be a lot of public interest in the bike ordinance, so a public hearing makes sense.
