Winneshiek County to plow fewer roads this winter due to budget constraints

Due to budget issues based on flat revenues and increasing operating and construction costs, Winneshiek County will not be performing winter maintenance on several roads this winter.

All roads that will not see winter maintenance are signed either Class B, Class C,  No Winter Maintenance, or have physical closures.

The roads marked in green on the map are Class B and C roads that historically have not been maintained in the winter.  The road marked in orange (Happy Hollow Rd) won't be maintained because a bridge is out.
The roads marked in red on the map are Class A roads that will not be plowed in the winter.

--323rd Ave from Pole Line Rd. north to 310th St.  Orleans Twp, Section 21

--320th Ave from 200th St. north to 210th St.  Sumner Twp, Section 9

--233rd Ave from Townline Rd. north to Dry Run Rd.  Madison Twp, Section 36

--345th Ave from Co. Rd. V68 south to 150th St.  Jackson Twp, Section 6

--128th St. from St. Hwy 24 west to 315th Ave.  Jackson Twp, Section 22

--165th St from Middle Ossian Rd. east to Co. Rd. W42.  Springfield Twp, Section 34

--134th Ave. from 1691 134th Ave. south to 1608 134th Ave.  Frankville Twp, Section 33

--220th St. from 335th Ave west to 345th Ave.  Sumner Twp, Section 6

--335th Ave. from Dusty Rd. north to 180th Ave.  Sumner Twp, Section 30
