Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Why couldn't I hear the Decorah football game on my computer?"

Posted: Tue, Nov 15, 2011 5:12 PM

Mr. Answer Person has returned from Cedar Falls just in time to field this question from Ken:

"I was listening to the pre-game of the Harlan versus Decorah game right down to the statement by Tony that the game was about to start in one minute.  Suddenly there was a disconnect and I didn't hear another word on the live stream about the game.    Was it a cell phone loss or was it a defect in my or their equipment?"

Mr. Answer Person says: "The Iowa High School Athletic Association forbids any Internet audio streaming of semifinal or final football championship games, which is why the streaming stopped one minute before the game.

Unfortunately, this means you won't be able to hear the audio stream of either KDEC or KVIK during Saturday's Championship Game.  The best suggestion is to grab one of your radios to listen in.

But if you're one of the many out-of-town decorahnews.com readers, here's a suggestion for you: The Iowa High School Athletic Association will offer a free audio webcast at http://www.ihssn.com/webcasting.  You'll have to create an account in order to listen, but the webcast will be free--honest.

A reminder that you can also check www.decorahsports.com after te game for pictures and other coverage.

And, oh, yes--GO VIKINGS!
