Decorah Fire Department responds to stove fire

The Decorah Fire Department was called out Friday evening at 5:38 p.m. for a stove fire at the home of Adam Bauer at 402 South Ave in Decorah.  

Upon the Fire Department's arrival a Decorah Police officer had controlled the fire with a fire extinguisher.   The Fire department cleared the house of smoke and removed the stove. 

The cause was accidental in nature.  No injuries were reported.   Smoke detectors were activated, alerting the occupants.   The Fire Department was on scene for about 40 minutes.
