The Materials Subcommittee of Oneota Historic Future Alliance says it still is planning for the reuse of the majority of the reclaimed East Side stone, bricks, dimensional lumber, and maple flooring boards.
The materials are stored at the Luther Farm. Anyone can come pick up bricks, stone, fill dirt or kindling wood from the site on Pole Line Road west of Highway 52 from 9:00 a.m. until noon this coming Friday; from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday; and from 9:00 a.m. until noon Monday.
Volunteers will be cleaning and palletizing East Side bricks on those days, to be moved across the road for their winter storage. Volunteers and people willing to trade work for building or garden landscape material are being sought. Fill dirt and kindling wood is free.
Inquiries regarding the project may be directed to any committee members, Deborah Bishop 379-6037, Larry Berland 382-9350, Dave Finholt 382-9360, Scott Hawthorne 380-5497, and Kyrl Henderson 382-5975.
