This is Community Foundation Week

This is Community Foundation Week.  The Winneshiek County Community Foundation is publicizing the event and the increasingly important role these philanthropic organizations play.

"Community foundations impact lives and communities with immediate results and plans for the future," says WCCF President Ron Taylor.  "In a down economy, with limited resources, we are more determined than ever to bring our county-wide partners together to find innovative and effective solutions to some of our most challenging local needs."

The Winneshiek County Community Foundation is most commonly known for its annual grant process where roughly $100,000 is distributed to non-profit, charitable work throughout Winneshiek County.  Grants are awarded in the areas of arts and culture, community affairs and development, education, environmental education and protection, health, historic preservation, and human services.
