The "Green Deconstruction Class" planned by NICC Calmar and the Oneota Historic Future Alliance has been cancelled for lack of enrollment.

That means the county-owned Caretaker's House on the Wellington Place campus has not been torn down.

Winneshiek County supervisors have received a letter from the Oneota Historic Future Alliance, notifying the supervisors of the cancellation.  The letter added that asbestos removal has been completed inside the building.

Supervisors took no action on the letter.  The county board had earlier set a deadline for OHFA to remove the building, or have to pay the costs of the county having to remove it.
