Volunteers help plant trees in Frankville Cemetery

Posted: Sun, Nov 6, 2011 2:51 PM

The Frankville village cemetery has a new look--thanks to a $875 grant from Trees Forever and Alliant Energy and the work of numerous volunteers.

The grant money was used to purchase 25 arborvitae trees from Riveland Nursery and Garden Center in Monona.  James Panoch, Richard Hammel, Brian Snitker and Loren Brandt volunteered their time to dig holes for the 25 trees.  Paul Arney, Janine Brandt, Loren Brandt and JoAnne Bodley volunteered to plant the trees, as did six members of the Decorah FFA Chapter--Adam Sacquitne, Colin Zidlicky, Jordan Tietz, Sawyer Wise, Jordan Schaller and Tyler Barth.  The Decorah FFA chapter also donated the use of the FFA trailer to transport the trees.

Mulch for the trees was donated, while Joe Billmeyer donated water for the trees.
