There was a deadly one-vehicle traffic accident Wednesday night in Winneshiek County.  The Iowa State Patrol says 18-year-old Brenden Christensen of Winnebago, Minnesota was traveling on 245th Avenue with a truckload of passengers when he failed to negotiate a curve and his truck left the road, hit a ditch and flipped over.

18-year-old Joshua Evers of Rochester was killed in the accident.  Six persons were injured: Christensen;  19-year-old Bobby Wild of Lansing; 18-year-old Shenyse Tharp of Holy Cross; 18-year-old Trey Dylsin-Hillyer of Frost, Minnesota; 19-year-old Keisha Kerr of Postville; and 19-year-old Kristin Easley of Preston, Minnesota.  Christensen was admitted to Winneshiek Medical Center, where he is listed in "good" condition.  The other five were airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, where no condition reports have been given yet.

None of the passengers were wearing seat belts.
