Luther Professor Emeritus Doug Eckheart art exhibit currently on display

Paintings by Doug Eckheart, Luther College professor emeritus, is currently on display in the lower level of Preus Library on the Luther campus. The display will end Oct. 22.

The six oil paintings, created between 2009-11, depict various scenes of the Luther campus and were commissioned by the college to coincide with its sesquicentennial celebration.
Eckheart explains he composed "a series of campus scenes with an eye toward various seasons, time of day or night, and mood or expression of the moment in a particular light."

The college will host a group gallery reception in the Center for the Arts for sesquicentennial exhibiting artists Saturday, Oct. 15 following the Homecoming football game on or about 3:30 p.m.
